Need: Farmland Improvements
Location: Kamuli District, Uganda, Sonrise Children’s Home compound
Background: Need to create drainage ditches around and through our swampy low-land acreage creating high ground area and lowland ponds increasing agricultural acrerage for food production. We would like to maximize the potential of our acreage especially during the extreme wet seasons.
Benefits:
Increase our agricultural average for rice, sweet potatoes, cow grass and vegetables
Creation of ponds may provide an opportunity for tilapia farming at a future date.
