Sheila was born to teenage parents who were unable to care for her. One day, her mother left her at her grandmother’s home and never returned. Her father was also absent, leaving Sheila in the care of her frail, blind, and elderly grandmother. Struggling to provide, her grandmother could only offer Sheila water, leading to severe malnourishment. Local probation officers intervened, bringing Sheila to Sonrise Baby Home for care and safety.

In 2024, as Sheila reached school age, she transitioned to Mirembe Cottage. There, she is now thriving, receiving love, care, and an education. We hold hope that one day her mother will return, and they can be reunited.
