Claudia’s story begins with her mother, who struggled with mental illness and lived a nomadic life on the streets. During this vulnerable time, a man took advantage of her, leading to Claudia's conception. After giving birth, Claudia's mother continued her life on the streets and in the bush, unable to care for her newborn. Concerned community members alerted the police, who involved a probation officer. The officer contacted the director of Sonrise Baby Home, who stepped in to rescue Claudia. Her mother was admitted to a mental hospital for treatment, where she remains today. Claudia’s father is unknown, but there is hope and prayers for her mother’s recovery and their eventual reunion.

In early 2024, as Claudia reached school age, she moved to Mirembe Cottage. There, she is thriving, surrounded by love, care, and an education rooted in Christian values
