Grace M.
Born Oct 2019
Grace M was born during the challenging times of the COVID-19 lockdown in Uganda to a teenage mother. Her young mother faced immense difficulties, balancing the responsibilities of caring for a newborn while holding onto her dreams of continuing her education.
When schools reopened, Grace’s mother was determined to return to her studies to build a better future for herself and her daughter. However, with no one available to care for Grace, she made the difficult decision to seek help. Grace was brought to Sonrise Baby Home, where she received love, care, and support in a nurturing environment.
Grace’s mother is now able to focus on her education, working toward her goals with the hope of reuniting with her daughter once she completes her studies and is ready to provide for her.
To make room for new babies to be rescued, Grace was moved to the Mirembe Cottage for Girls in 2024. Her story is one of hope, as she thrives at Mirembe while her mother pursues a brighter future for them both.
We invite you to partner with Grace by supporting her housing, meals, education, and general care to help her continue to grow and thrive.
