Kevin L
Kevin L was born August 26, 2011.
Kevin was born in a nearby slum to a young mother who, sadly, showed signs of severe postpartum depression. She refused to feed him and even became physically abusive toward him as a newborn. A concerned neighbor, seeing the fragile and malnourished baby, contacted Sonrise in desperation, hoping someone could help.
Pastor Ivan went to investigate and found Kevin barely clinging to life. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was admitted to intensive care and given blood transfusions due to severe malnutrition and anemia. By God’s grace and with the care he received, Kevin slowly began to recover. His father, however, denied paternity and has not been involved in his life.
Today, Kevin is growing up at the Sonrise Children’s Home, full of life and joy. You’ll often find him climbing trees or wrestling with his brothers in the yard. He has a special bond with Auntie Aisha, one of his caregivers, and dreams of becoming a policeman when he grows up.
