Flavia N

Born Dec 2018

Flavia's life began under difficult circumstances when her mother was abandoned by her husband during pregnancy. Left without a job or support, her mother endured significant hardships throughout her pregnancy, ultimately giving birth to Flavia.

After Flavia’s birth, life grew even more challenging. Struggling to provide adequate nutrition, Flavia’s mother could not properly feed her, leading to severe malnourishment for both herself and her baby. Compounding these struggles, Flavia’s mother was HIV positive and on antiretroviral treatment but lacked the nutrition needed to maintain her health.

Concerned hospital staff reported Flavia’s critical condition to the probation officer. Flavia was then brought to Sonrise Baby Home, arriving severely malnourished but with hope for recovery. At the Baby Home she received life saving care, nourishment, and love she needed to thrive. Flavia moved to the Mirembe Cottage of Girls in 2022 and loves being with so many other girls around her age. We invite you to partner with Flavia by supporting her housing, meals, education, and general care to ensure she continues to flourish.
